Women and Guilt

EYE
I am a woman, shall i be guilty?
I gave you birth, is that why i am filthy?
I understood you, when you had no words,
I supported you when you had certain urge,
But today you made me realize that womanhood is a curse.
You called me your partner,
And described me as a faulter,
When i was about to birth your princess,
You asked to pass that hilarious pact,
‘Abortion’ you said, “Take it easy to act”.
Today you call her your princess,
And thank me to act intact,
When she kisses your forehead you feel blessed,
Her every birthday for you is today a fest,
For her every desire you always stand erect.
But when she introduces her beloved to you,
You breaks her heart in a second or two,
All your love now makes you feel ashamed,
And all of a sudden as a culprit i am claimed,
Once again you break my trust and my family’s chain.
But i am a woman, i shall be guilty,
Though it was your sperm, yet i am blameworthy,
I becomes a bad mother because i wasn’t a watchdog,
And you a perfect father with your clan at the top,
Open up your eyes and look around,
Its your daughter, your princess, once you crowned.
I beg your pardon, once again you are mistaken,
And now I want you to walk on the road not taken….

I am the rose of your garden

rose wp

I am the rose of your garden,

My presence will make you achieve stardom,

Nurture me once and i will nurture you forever,

Though i’m your daughter and not your son.

I am the rose of your garden,

I am calm and firm,

I will be your friend, your teacher and your partner,

But not your servant, your abettor or arm.

I am the rose of your garden,

Passionately your tradition, your customs i would learn,

I am your daughter from my heart and not by law,

Respect in return i want from you to earn.

I am the rose of your garden,

I am your mother my beautiful daughter and my dearest son,

Identify my sacrifices at the moment my children,

And just not let your tears blow when i am gone.

I am the rose of your garden,

Though i am old, though i moan,

My warmth, my fragrance for my garden will never low,

My time has come to leave my world.

My petals are shattered,

All my life i have battled,

Today you don’t want me in your garden,

Which once was mine i pardon.

But one day you would cry,

And i would watch you from the sky,

You would need me when,

But i would be gone then,

As a mother, as a wife,

And that would be the end of my life….

What strikes me on and on….

While crossing the road during chilly winters of Delhi, i wonder the grey world around making the city lazy and dormant will someday hibernate the dirty mindset of the men around, add a comma to the outdated superstitions of the people. The burning sun of corruption, child labor, illiteracy will someday set. The trees covered with thick mist will one day develop a protective sheath so that it can spread over its beauty irrespective of every season. One day women around will enhance their presence, identify their individuality, get permanency of their names right from her birth.
None of the symbol will she require to prove her marital status. She would grow someday in a manner she wants herself to be seen by others. Someday she will realize that her father and her husband are just a part of her life rather then her world. Someday she will be more emphasized to fill her stomach rather than feeding the greed of her men.

And when all this will take place, I can imagine India at the pinnacle. A man and a woman are two different members of the society that completes the society. A man without a woman is incomplete and vice verse. But the whole scenario is misinterpreted as the men being the only power. We often discuss about women have proved themselves in every field, why not men proving themselves. In whose eyes are we struggling so hard to be proven? Who is being given the power to stamp oneself of her own existence, her uniqueness? We are already approved by the almighty to exist in the world, to enhance our uniqueness. Therefore let us just begin to correct ourselves with the small thoughts. It is important and necessary to begin. One step towards yourself and you succeed one position towards development. Introspect yourself and then examine the world. You are not born to entertain the society. Equally participate for the welfare of the society, for yourself and the upcoming generation.
